You cannot allow your health to be in second place of your priorities.

Let’s be clear about one thing. Productivity is related to our health and well-being, a huge part of our overall success. We are now in the era of technology, where we are in front of our computers which give off radiation, whether you are studying or working, and from there, staying healthy is crucial. Let’s find out how we can achieve better health, mood and focus in tech environments.

Happiness depends on our health and well-being. Studying is challenging; we all know that. It’s crucial for our personal and professional self-development, which comes with many up-down moments where our mental health is tested. Stress and demotivation while studying are constantly our most vigorous opponents.

Can we fight them back? Yes, we can!

A good mood has been indicated to improve our capacity to learn and help us perform better than if we were in a “neutral mood”. Health is significantly related to all kinds of well-being, so we must keep ourselves at a very sustainable level to keep focusing on every important thing in our lives.

“I am still learning”, said Michelangelo at age 83, which means he stayed healthy because only strong health can give us the power of focus and a massive space for an upbeat mood.

Now think you overtrain your intellectuality. Is that possible? Yes, it’s simple… Even more, our intellectuality is a muscle, maybe an organism. Our cardiovascular system can be overtrained; the same can happen with intellectualism.

We need to care about ourselves!

Stay active!

Some activities help our health status stay healthy. For instance, here are some of them:

  • Hanging out with friends
  • Listening to pleasing music
  • Playing sports
  • Reducing alcohol consumption
  • Eating well
  • Sleeping enough
  • Enjoying new and old hobbies
  • Discussing your feelings
  • Reading a book
  • Learning new skills
  • Paying attention to the present moment
  • Relaxing. Doing nothing is fine!

Going to sleep and waking up simultaneously every day is fundamental for your benefit. You activate your metabolism and increase your energy. In general, with such activities, you improve your physical and mental health to a much better level.

What about intense studying periods?

You have exams, a lot of homework, you feel pressure…

Take a break! Keep a balance.

Our health, our mind, and our body are the most important. However, It’s okay to leave homework for tomorrow. It’s okay to rest. It’s okay to go for a walk.

We understand that in stressful periods, you sometimes forget to rest, work out, and eat well. That’s why you are here now: to remind yourself of all the above you just read!

Eating healthy

Let’s make it great again! Try what makes you and your body feel good. Some things suit you, and some don’t.

When you study, remember: DRINK WATER! Eat fruits and vegetables. Eat only what your body asks for to take the necessary calories to re-energize.

“Enjoy time, relax and have some fun”, recommended by the University of Sussex on this very significant topic. We can work on our PhD, but we must work on our health and well-being. Go for a walk and grab some apples because one apple a day keeps the doctor away!
