Partnership Management & Mapping Super Hero

In what will you be involved?

In Social Hackers Academy we train refugees and vulnerable groups in software engineering. We’recurrently expanding our social impact model and we’re building a network of partners all around the world. That’s where you come in as an inspiring Partnership Management & Mapping Super Hero. Your main tasks has to do with mapping potential collaboration opportunities and scheduling meetings with the potential partner NGOs.

How much of your time is needed?

It really depends on your availability, but we’d love it if you could volunteer ~20 hours / week. Would be awesome if you could work from our office in Romantso but you can also work remotely

 

What background/experience are we looking for?

We are open to anyone that wants to offer towards building a more equal society, but we’d love it if you have the following:

  1. HR, PR or Marketing background
  2. You love communicating with people and building relationships
  3. You’re a cool gal/guy with a positive attitude towards life

 

But hey don’t worry about if you don’t. We are looking for inspired people who wants to learn new skills by implementing the newly acquired skills.

And since we strive for the employability of our students, we equally care about yours. Hence, we can provide you with a letter of recommendation which will certainly strengthen your CV. Most importantly though you learn how to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial and international environment (our team consists of people from Lithuania, Scotland, Turkey, USA etc) while honing real life business skills. IT Support Expert


DESCRIPTION

Social Hackers Academy is looking for a Computer Expert, that will install, maintain and support information technology equipment of our organization.

In Social Hackers Academy we train refugees and vulnerable groups in Web Development. We provide our students with laptops during their learning process, which means that IT Equipment plays a vital part in our everyday operations. 

By agreeing to help us, you will be responsible for:

  • Installing software or hardware systems
  • Maintaining and repairing equipment
  • Troubleshooting different computer issues
  • Educating our team and our students on how to solve technical problems 

How much of your time is needed?

It really depends on every problem we face with our IT Equipment, that’s why it is upon agreement. It would be great if you could work (when help is needed) from our office in “Romantso” as we store all of our equipment there.

What will you gain by working with our organization?You will be a member of a community of young and self-driven individuals that are passionate about social impact. You will interact with refugees and understand the importance of your work in completing their classes. What’s more, you will also collect useful professional experience, especially if you study in a similar field, that can be showcased to future employers.

HR & Administration Assistant

DESCRIPTION

Social Hackers Academy is a Non-Profit organisation based in Athens, Greece, where we deliver educational courses in digital skills (basic computer skills/ web development) to refugees and vulnerable groups, in order to help them get a job as developers in Greece and abroad. To help our students become employable, in addition to hard skills, we also deliver soft skills trainings like CV Building, LinkedIn Trainings, Career Counseling.

Due to the small number of employees, we need passionate volunteers that will assist in the administration processes of the organization and will support our students in building their soft skills. 

 

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  1. Mapping and contacting NGOs to promote the applications of the programs.
  2. Assist in managing and delivering soft skills seminars & career counselling sessions for the students.
  3. Assist in the educational cycle of the students. 
  4. Assist in their recruitment process by companies.
  5. Scanning & Contacting companies to build new partnerships.
  6. Forward graduates’ CVs to partner companies.
  7. Screening volunteer and internship positions of the organization and managing the selection process.

Marketing & Social Media Assistant

DESCRIPTION

Social Hackers Academy is a Non-Profit organisation based in Athens, Greece, where we deliver educational courses in digital skills (basic computer skills/ web development) to refugees and vulnerable groups, in order to help them get a job as developers in Greece and abroad. To help our students become employable, in addition to hard skills, we also deliver soft skills trainings like CV Building, LinkedIn Trainings, Career Counseling.

Due to the small number of employees, we need passionate volunteers that will assist in the marketing strategy of the organization, improvement of our brand and sustaining partnerships with organizations & companies. 

 

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in social media managment & digital marketing strategy.
  2. Communicating with partner NGOs & companies.
  3. Working closely with graphic designer on daily tasks.
  4. Assist in organising events & seminars.
  5. Assist in crowdfunding campaigns.
  6. Create and review content to be published (e.g. copies, press releases, blog posts).

Educational Program Coordinator

DESCRIPTION

Due to the small number of employees, we need passionate volunteers that will assist in managing the educational program in basic computer skills courses.Computer Literacy Class (CLC) is a basic 20h digital and computer skills course offered free of charge to individuals and beneficiaries of our partner NGOs working with vulnerable groups. Tasks & Responsibilities:

  1. Scanning NGOs for partnerships to cooperate on running a class.
  2. Assist in the meetings to maintain existing and building new partnerships. 
  3. Train volunteer teachers on how to deliver the classes. 
  4. Assist in the realization of class and update records of students/attendances etc. 
  5. Manage & maintain contact with NGOs and coordinate the progress.

Basic computer skills teacher

DESCRIPTION

Social Hackers Academy (SHA) is passionate about improving employability of people by enabling them to use technology. Soon after joining local NGOs’ ecosystem, we have identified that there are a lot more people than You and Us would imagine, the lack of even basic digital and computer skills.

This is why in 2019, SHA is dynamically expanding the ‘Computer Literacy Classes’ among partner organisations in Athens, Capital of Greece. It is a basic 20 hour-long digital and computer skills course which we are offering free of charge to other NGOs working with vulnerable groups. Take a look at our CLC curriculum on our website.

Basic Computer Skills Teacher will teach people with little to none computer knowledge in organisations, working with vulnerable groups in different locations of Athens. Vulnerable groups like youth, refugees, long term unemployed, older people – groups that have some specific characteristics that put them at higher risk of falling under the poverty line compared to others living in that area.

Teaching material (curriculum) and support in preparing for teaching before and throughout the course is provided by SHA, as well as regular meetings with a project coordinator and other mentors to share the feedback and learn from each other’s experiences.

Volunteer mentor is more than welcome to offer part-time support towards other SHA activities that would be individually agreed upon person’s interests and skills.
