Our Story
History
Founded in 2017, Social Hackers Academy (SHA) began as the first tech education school in Athens dedicated to empowering vulnerable groups — refugees, migrants, and the unemployed — by teaching them valuable digital skills. At the time, Greece was facing a crisis, with tens of thousands of refugees living in limbo, largely without access to formal education or opportunities for a better future. We saw this as an opportunity to make a difference. By providing free, high-quality education in web development, we offered a path out of the camps and towards financial independence.
Today
Today, SHA has grown into a respected player in the field of digital inclusion, with successful collaborations on numerous EU projects, including Erasmus+ and AMIF. We have helped hundreds of learners acquire tech skills and land jobs, with many of them becoming mentors and active members of our community.

As we look to the future, we are excited to introduce Mentoro AI, our new ecosystem designed to bring together learners, educators, and innovators from around the world. Through Mentoro, we will offer cutting-edge AI programming courses and foster collaboration on a global scale. Our mission remains focused on breaking down barriers and creating opportunities through education, and as we grow, we continue to adapt and expand our offerings to meet the needs of a rapidly evolving digital world.
